Shannon Sharpe, co-host of Fox Sports 1’s The Undisputed program, ripped Jared Kushner and his father-in-law President Donald Trump over federal handling of the coronavirus. Deadspin writer Chris Baud defended Sharpe in a post titled “Shannon Sharpe Says What We Were All Thinking: Jared Kushner Is an Incompetent Ass Bag”, and it all goes downhill from there.
The former member of the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens was enraged after Kushner tweeted: “The notion of federal stockpiles was it’s supposed to be our stockpile. It’s not supposed to be states’ stockpiles that they then use.”
Sharpe (in photo) tweeted an angry response to Kushner’s tweet:
Baud did likewise: “Even for a Trump family member, the audacity required to utter such bullshit is remarkable.” He accused President Trump of “playing games with much-needed life-saving equipment. …
“ ‘It’s a two-way street,’ the Orange Idiot in Chief said. ‘They can’t say, ‘Oh, gee, we should get this, we should get that.’ ”
“Why da FCK are we paying federal taxes then?” Sharpe tweeted.
“Good question,” says Baud.
Actually, guys, the Heritage Foundation reported two years ago that Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare and Social Security eat up the largest shares of your federal taxes. Stockpiles did not make the leader board.
Sharpe also repeated the standard Democrat complaint about Trump allegedly disbanding former President Barack Obama’s pandemic response team. It was actually realigned, but lefties aren’t to be confused with the facts on that. “I would have listened when I was briefed on this possible pandemic and not gotten rid of pandemic response team, for starters,” Sharpe said.
That sealed the deal for Baud: “Get this man a federal job,” he demanded.
Kushner has no government experience, but he serves as the president’s “go-to guy” on COVID-19, Baud says before quoting Michelle Goldberg of the New York Times:
“Kushner has succeeded at exactly three things in his life. He was born to the right parents, married well and learned how to influence his father-in-law. Most of his other endeavors — his biggest real estate deal, his foray into newspaper ownership, his attempt to broker a peace deal between the Israelis and the Palestinians — have been failures.”
Continuing to pile on, Baud says a phrase used by a past Texas Governor, Ann Richards, to describe former President George W. Bush also applies to Kushner: “He was born on third base and thought he hit a triple.”
May God help us all if Sharpe ever gets a federal job. He’s the man who once said private citizen Tim Tebow should not be allowed to choose baseball as a career choice. With a government platform, Sharpe would be an absolute dictator.
Baud’s hit piece is further evidence that the “new” Deadspin, with its entirely new staff of progressive writers who recently resurrected the mess that was left for dead in October, is just as trashy as the old version.
