Michigan Lawmakers Release Readout of White House Meeting With Trump That Sent Liberal Media Into Apoplectic Meltdown

8 mins read

When news broke late in the week that President Trump had “summoned” top Michigan State lawmakers to a White House meeting on Friday, as his campaign continued to challenge votes from heavily Democrat parts of the state, the so-called “mainstream” media lost their collective minds as they wildly speculated about all sorts of unconstitutional, dictatorial, banana republic-like stuff Dr. Evil had in mind.

The “likely agenda,” fretted a Politico contributor, would involve “the felony of attempting to bribe a public official.” Turns out the lapdog media’s latest hysterical meltdown was much ado about nothing.

This tweet from “genius” Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who represents Michigan’s 8th Congressional District, was even more hilarious.

“History has come for Speaker Chatfield and Senator Shirkey, who have been summoned to the White House, ahead of Monday’s State Board of Canvassers’ meeting meant to certify Michigan’s results. These two men will soon have to choose between our democracy, and fealty to one man.”

“Fealty,” via Merriam-Webster: “the fidelity of a vassal or feudal tenant to his lord; the obligation of such fidelity.” [Cue the scary organ music.]

Anyway, after the private meeting ended, Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House Speaker Lee Chatfield issued a readout, as reported by BizPac Review, in which they said they were personally unaware of any “widespread election malfeasance” in the Great Lake State.

“The Senate and House Oversight Committees are actively engaged in a thorough review of Michigan’s elections process and we have faith in the committee process to provide greater transparency and accountability to our citizens.

“We have not yet been made aware of any information that would change the outcome of the election in Michigan and as legislative leaders, we will follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors, just as we have said throughout this election.”

They said, however, that the investigation is ongoing.

No doubt that Trump-loathers like CNN’s Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, Ana Navarro, and others, along with the kids in the MSNBC clown car, were either shocked by the statement of how the meeting went down, or dismissed it out of hand, assuming that the Devil’s spawn had threatened some sort of terrible revenge against any lawmaker foolish enough to spill the beans about what “really” occurred in the meeting.

But even as reported by The Most Trusted Name in News™ [eye-roll], “a person familiar with Friday’s meeting said the session was cordial as the group explained to the president the process for certifying the election and assigning electors in their state.”

As accusations of massive election fraud continue, the Republican lawmakers said allegations should be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law — free from threats and intimidation.

“Michigan’s certification process should be a deliberate process free from threats and intimidation. Allegations of fraudulent behavior should be taken seriously, thoroughly investigated, and if proven, prosecuted to the full extent of the law. And the candidates who win the most votes win elections and Michigan’s electoral votes. These are simple truths that should provide confidence in our elections.”

CNN also reported — to its chagrin, I’m sure — that the aforementioned person familiar with the meeting said “Trump did not apply any overt pressure on the lawmakers to try and shift electors from Biden to himself, or to prevent the vote from being certified,” and that “the president did appear interested in the explanation the lawmakers offered.”

CNN being CNN, it did go all, um CNN in its dfdfdf d  of the meeting: based on this quote from the readout:

It was a blow to Trump, who had invited the lawmakers to the White House this week, as he seeks to subvert the will of voters in a long-shot effort to overturn the results of an election he lost. The president’s efforts to pressure local leaders, which earned sharp criticism even from some Republicans, come as his legal team’s options to challenge election results in states he lost are rapidly evaporating and as states move to certify their election results.

Somebody help me out, here. What evidence does CNN possess to prove that Trump has “pressured local leaders”? Maybe I missed it.

As for Trump’s much  fdfdfd f meeting , along with any and all dfdf which suggest sufficient evidence doesn’t exist to, this tweet from syndicated talk show host Joe Pags Pagliarulo is representative dfdfdf

Meanwhile, the band plays on. Seems to me that soon, allegations of widespread election fraud — election fraud on a level that would determine the outcome of the election — must be substantiated. Time is of the essence. And to be sure, 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump deserve to know that in the end, the election was indeed “fair and accurate” — regardless of the eventual outcome.
