Rabbis for the Strictly Orthodox Jewish communities in Britain released a statement last week saying they will not accept the U.K. government’s pro-homosexual curricula for their schools, reported The Jewish Chronicle.
It is “a defiant challenge to the government,” said the publication.
The statement from Chinuch U.K., a group that seeks to protect the Strictly Orthodox educational system, said its schools must “not describe to pupils lifestyles prohibited by the Torah.”

It also said that schools must “ensure that [government] inspectors do not speak to pupils about these matters at all,” reported The Jewish Chronicle. The schools should tell inspectors “clearly and respectfully that they do not cover these subjects.”
Under the Equality Law in Britain even independent schools are required to provide some information about LGBT people. But as The Journal reported, the government had given the Strictly Orthodox groups, which have about 35 schools, hope that “there would be some flexibility by leaving it up to schools at what age it would be appropriate to cover such topics.”
However, government educational inspectors have made it clear that LGBT subjects must be introduced starting in elementary schools.
According to LifeSiteNews, “Last year, the Government Equalities Office sponsored guidelines produced by Stonewall, a U.K. LGBT activist group roughly equivalent to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) in the United States, which encouraged British primary schools to embed gay, lesbian, and transgender themes and examples into every subject area and every grade level.”

“From this past September, new relationships and sex education (RSE) courses are scheduled to take effect in the U.K.,” reported LifeSiteNews. “The government has made it clear that pupils must receive teaching about LGBT relationships at some point while they are at school.
“For schools that adopt these guidelines, this would mean that children as young as five would be reading about families with two lesbian moms and two homosexual dads in subjects such as math, science, and geography.”
