A Democratic double standard isn’t working out for California gym owners.

In San Francisco, if you weren’t aware, exercise facilities are closed.

Elected officials have demanded it.

Except, that is, where elected officials are concerned.

The same goes for other government employees.

As reported by The Daily Wire, it turns out that — while you and your family can’t frequent your favorite facility to work up a sweat — gyms in government buildings have been up and running for a while.

The news hasn’t brought joy to private gym owners, who are suffering due to the shutdown.

Daniele Rabkin — proprietor of Crossfit Golden Gate — told the Bay Area’s KNTV that learning of the hypocritical hideousness has her steamed — particularly since she’s fought so hard to stay afloat.

“It’s shocking,” she said. “It’s infuriating.

And she lamented that the government won’t be held accountable:

“Even though they’re getting exposed, there are no repercussions, no ramifications? It’s shocking.”

Daniele learned of the news after offering police the opportunity to work out at her facility. She was informed they could do so at San Francisco’s Northern District Police Station.

MX3 Fitness owner Dave Karraker’s upset as well. Speaking to the local NBC affiliate, he observed thusly:

“It just demonstrates that there seems to be some kind of a double standard between what city employees are allowed to do and what the residents of San Francisco are allowed to do.”

To Dave, San Fran’s leadership has unwittingly proved a point — that the lockdown is a load:

“What the city has unwillingly done is created this great case study that says that working out indoors is actually safe. So at this point, we’re just demanding that they allow us to have the same workout privileges for the citizens of San Francisco that the employees of San Francisco have.”

Here’s more from KNTV:

Gyms for police officers aren’t the only ones open. A sign at the Hall of Justice gym shows rules for use as of July 1 for its patrons, which would include judges, lawyers, bailiffs, and paralegals.

The outlet “asked the city for comment Thursday and were told only that the current health order does not allow indoor fitness gyms to operate, and per Mayor London Breed’s latest reopening announcement, privately owned gyms have to stay closed until at least the end of the month.”

As I covered Saturday, last week, the mayor was also asked about a bit of hypocrisy on the part of Nancy Pelosi — namely her visit to a shuttered salon amid a mask order, maskless and ready to look fabulous.

London didn’t have a lot to say — about Pelosi.

Instead, she indicated that Donald Trump is a “terrorist” and a “dictator.”

That’s the state of politics — abject hypocrisy gets ignored, in favor of ridiculous rhetoric.

Hence, the government can hop on a treadmill, while you’ll have to hoof it at the park.

And in San Francisco, that’ a much worse prospect that most everywhere else.

After all — you’re likely to step in poop.

You know who else has stepped in it? The San Francisco government.

But as Daniele pointed out, there’ll likely be no consequences, unless voters choose to shed some weight in November — namely, the elected officials responsible.
