Minneapolis, M.N. – President Trump has denied a request from Minnesota’s governor for money to rebuild parts of Minneapolis destroyed during the riots following the death of George Floyd.
On July 2, Gov. Tim Walz requested that Trump declare Minnesota a “major disaster” zone in a request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In his petition, Gov. Walz stated that more than 1,500 buildings were damaged by looting and rioting in the wake of Floyd’s death, totaling over $500 million in damages.
Rep. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina, praised the Trump administration’s decision to reject Minnesota’s request, placing blame on the local officials who told the police to stand down during the rioting.

Since Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020, liberal lawmakers have sat back and allowed for the destruction of their cities. These same Democratic officials and politicians have pushed for the defunding of local police departments and criticized forcefully dispersing the criminal anarchists responsible for the destruction of businesses and property.
Now, as a direct result of their local handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the drastic reduction of local and state revenue, Democrats believe that Trump and the federal government are financially responsible for cleaning up the mess.
For Trump, the message to these liberal leaders is this: you must pay for your political pandering outcome.
