At today’s SCOTUS confirmation proceedings, Amy Coney Barrett informed Democratic Sen. Chris Coons in no uncertain terms that she is not, in fact, Antonin Scalia and that she does, in fact, have her own mind.
Here it is again, because it’s just that good:
“I assure you I have my own mind”

But NBC News/MSNBC analyst Howard Fineman isn’t impressed. In fact, he actually seems pretty repulsed:
“I assure you I have my own mind.” Another political over-answer.

Another liberal mansplainer masquerading as a serious person.
How dare she think for herself, right? pic.twitter.com/KNsrGLdeJX

“over-answer”
Is she being an uppity woman, Howard? https://t.co/Nm3PXmaUKA

We’re more than a little bit shocked that Howard didn’t follow that tweet up with one demanding that Amy Coney Barrett make him a sandwich.
Do I detect some mansplaining? pic.twitter.com/EULx5L7q4N

Sounds like you’re mansplaining to #ACB https://t.co/F9gJE3IdAj

#mansplaining https://t.co/WWiLgXiJMU
— I did not and will not vote for him. Calm down. (@jtLOL) October 14, 2020
(Howard wouldn’t dream of asking Ruth Bader Ginsburg to make him a sandwich.)
And if RBG had said it you would have it inked on your back. https://t.co/yh1Km67PP2

Sorry I can’t hear you over my “I was that girl” Kamala 2020 shirt https://t.co/eR7EMsGCDd
— JonathonSnyder (@JonathonSnyder) October 14, 2020
If Kamala said this to Pence, you would’ve put her on a t-shirt.
For that matter, if there were a left-leaning female nominee to the court, you would’ve done the same. https://t.co/auxoow6nkA

This would, if the partisan roles were reversed, already be printed on t-shirts and coffee mugs. https://t.co/uDGZeqZRtO

Oh, without a doubt. But Amy Coney Barrett is no Kamala Harris — and we’re immensely grateful for that.
Disgusting.
