As I explained earlier, after Joe Biden embarrassed himself and insulted Americans by saying that we didn’t “deserve to know” whether or not he intended to pack the court, the Democrats have come up with new talking points to throw out there.
The new talking points are that it’s really the Republicans who are somehow “court packing” by filling the vacancy with Amy Coney Barrett.
Now of course, this doesn’t even make any sense. The Senate filling or not filling vacancies is their normal power of advise and consent, it isn’t court packing. Court packing has a very specific and plain language meaning that everyone has understood since at least the 1930s when the Democrats last tried to blow up the Supreme Court with Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s scheme. It means adding additional seats to the Supreme Court to bend it to your political will.
It’s despicable and insulting of Democrats to try to sell this fiction to Americans.
But what’s even worse is that suddenly you see the media signing on board this fiction as well.
Perhaps one of the most egregious examples is the Associated Press.
Now, while we’re used to CNN and MSNBC pushing propaganda, the AP still pretends that it’s “an independent global news organization dedicated to factual reporting,” as our friends at Twitchy observed.
But here’s how the AP story described what was going on, according to Real Clear Politics’ co-founder Tom Bevan.
With lightning speed, the Associated Press adopts Democrats’ language on SCOTUS: adding members is now “depoliticizing” the court, only “critics” refer to it as “packing.” pic.twitter.com/IBujBwmWE2

“Bullock said that if Coney Barrett was confirmed, he would be open to measures to depoliticize the court, including adding judges to the bench, a practice critics have dubbed packing the courts.”
Wait, what? So adding more seats to increase your political control is now “depoliticizing the court” and it’s only “critics” who have called it “packing the court?”
This is an AP story literally parroting the Democratic Orwellian talking points.
So not only are Democrats trying this spin, they’re getting an assist to completely change the nature of the words and it’s once again showing how media which is supposed to be objective, isn’t.
The AP got such a blowback from it that they later added in an update.
“This story has been edited to make clear that it is Bullock’s opinion, rather than a fact, that adding justices to the Supreme Court would depoliticize the court.”
That’s a weaselly update. Words actually have meaning, even if Democrats keep trying to twist their meaning to help their cause and media helps them.
“Court packing” is a colloquial expression dating to at least the 1930’s when Franklin Roosevelt proposed adding seats to the court. It backfired and failed and has been referred to as court packing ever since. It’s the kind of succinct, well-known term newspeople normally like. https://t.co/fslvlhnXV8

Adding Justices to the US Supreme Court would be the most political, radical, partisan power grab possible for the Judiciary. That move is the polar opposite of “depoliticizing”.
I’ve got very bad news for those pushing this new “depoliticizing” spin => Americans aren’t idiots! https://t.co/B6P1HOkCGd
