Former FBI Director James Comey will be invited to testify about Operation Crossfire Hurricane before the Senate Judiciary Committee sometime between September 15-20, 2020, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) announced Tuesday.

Since Comey’s been willing to appear on CBS’s “Face the Nation” and pen an OpEd for The Washington Post, there’s no reason to think Comey won’t “gladly” accept the invitation to testify, Judiciary Committee Chair Graham tweeted Tuesday:

“Recently @Comey has appeared on Face the Nation and written an oped in the Washington Post. I imagine he would gladly accept an invitation from the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify in the coming weeks on #CrossfireHurricane. (1/2)”

Sen. Graham then tweeted directly to Comey, telling him to “check your calendar” for dates in the September 15-30 timespan he’d be available to appear – and assured Comey that his invitation to testify is “forthcoming”:

@Comey , check your calendar for open Tuesdays/Wednesdays between September 15-30. The invitation is forthcoming. (2/2)”

Under Comey’s watch, the FBI’s Operation Crossfire Hurricane performed covert surveillance on members of the 2016 Trump campaign predicated on the FBI’s error-riddled FISA warrant applications.

On Sunday, Sen. Graham released documents related to Crossfire Hurricane he says show an FBI double-standard in which the agency gave the Hillary Clinton campaign a defensive briefing before pursuing a FISA warrant – but, did not provide the same notice to the 2016 Trump campaign.
