New York, NY — On Tuesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) said that he would publish a book outlining his response to the COVID-19 crisis. The book will be titled ‘American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic’ and is slated to go on sale in October. Immediately, the backlash began.

Cuomo’s response to the coronavirus pandemic was anything other than role model leadership. He ordered countless lives to die by forcing nursing facilities to take COVID-19 positive patients early in the pandemic. He declared the state would need thousands of ventilators, that were never needed. He never had a grasp on the situation at all.

Comments started rolling in about the potential book. One tweet was sent out by a Fox News personality that quickly said how Cuomo was a failure. Other comments flooded soon after.

Cuomo writing a book abt leadership in China Virus is like having Harvey Weinstein write a book called “How to Treat a Lady.” @JaniceDean needs to write the book of how Cuomo failed & it costs the lives of her parents-in-law. https://t.co/s7MXoujMEm

Several other responses across Congress came in as well. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) had this to say.

How is this book anything other than tone deaf opportunism? https://t.co/v6lBjxN6Y3

The only lesson that anyone should be taking from Gov. Cuomo is a lesson on what not to do. In life, there’s always a good example and a bad example. He has given a picture-perfect bad example for people to follow.

The book announcement came just one day after Gov. Cuomo blasted the Trump administration in his speech at the DNC. He bragged about how his state went from having one of the highest infection rates in the country, to having one of the lowest. He conveniently left out those he ordered to die through his assisted living mandate.

President Trump and the Trump campaign quickly responded to the Cuomo speech on Monday night. While many on the left have laid the blame for coronavirus completely on President Trump, Trump was quick to say that Cuomo was responsible for what happened in New York.

Now AP estimates that the real Cuomo number of people killed because of his total incompetence is 11,000, not the 6000 that was originally thought!

The idea of trying to capitalize on a book after a crisis such as this is absurd. It would be different if this came out 5 years from now as a memoir of Cuomo. Instead, while the country is still grappling with the crisis, he is attempting to make money off it.

This is a pathetic decision by Gov. Cuomo as he attempts to remain relevant. I would expect he wants to keep the attention on him so he can land some type of position in a potential Biden administration. If we are going to talk about poor choices, maybe Biden can place him over Health and Human Services.
