Looks like they’re back at the statue game.

‘Protesters’ held an event at Grant Park in Los Angeles at City Hall allegedly against “colonialism” and how they could fix it. They even promised a “special surprise” at the end of the event.

It was actually a pretty small crowd but apparently it was enough to help pull off the “surprise” at the end of the event. Warning for language.

The group managed to deface the statue with anarchist symbols, “FTP” and “ACAB” and pull it down, but seven people got arrested as a result of the action.

From CBS Los Angeles:

The statue, a life size bronze figure of America’s first president dressed in military uniform, is one of 30 copies of an original granite sculpture created in 1796 that currently sits at the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond, according to the Los Angeles Department of Arts and Culture.

It was acquired in 1933 by the Women’s Community Service, an auxiliary of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, and presented to the county on Feb. 22 of that year to commemorate Washington’s birthday.

They don’t care about any of that history or the importance of Washington to the formation of our country.

This is just the latest entry from the “rip down our history crowd.” They’ve also defaced or pulled down Abraham Lincoln, a World War II veterans monument, even a monument to black civil war veterans. Not to mention that churches and religious statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus have also been hit in this period. The kids basically imitating the Red Guard strike again.
