They were out in Portland again on Friday night.

In general, things were mellower at the federal courthouse, without some of the violent attacks that have proliferated in the past. They vandalized some businesses and set fires in the streets.

They tried to tempt the feds out of the courthouse.

They threw garbage at their back entrance, which feds quickly cleared.

There were definitely struggle sessions.

And performance art.

With free stuff.

They did try to point a couple of explosives projectiles at the courthouse. But they seemed off the mark.

One person got closer and tried to aim it at the courthouse. Not a smart move. It didn’t end well.

Whoops. It’s actually pretty amazing that we haven’t heard of more injuries given all the explosives/fireworks we’ve seen them setting off and throwing at the courthouse.

They made it clear that it wasn’t about police brutality, but that they were against all cops, every single one of them, for all the national media that don’t get this about the “peaceful protests.”

They said once again the purpose is not to be peaceful, that the purpose is in fact to disrupt, kind of putting a big kink in the “peaceful” liberal media narrative.

But in general, they proved the basic point the feds had been making: if they don’t try to harm the building and the federal agents, they don’t respond. The federal agents had every opportunity to shoot tear gas at the people there but did not, killing the evil feds just want to attack the poor peaceful protester story.

Now, we just have to see if that can hold. There were some more dangerous elements there, trying to encourage revolution. So we’ll have to see which prevail.
