(CNS News) — Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) joined Fox & Friends on Monday morning to discuss the upcoming presidential election, and he urged Americans to get informed, learn about what the candidates are proposing, and to listen to the Democrats.
With 99 days until the election, Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy asked Crenshaw what he believes is at stake with the November election.
Americans need to “start listening to Democrats,” said Crenshaw. “We have to listen to what they’re telling us. They talk about defunding the police, they talk about making excuses for violent mobs—let’s take them at their word.”
“They want to destroy the things that bring us together,” the congressman said, “our common bonds, our founding, our love of country.”
“Now why would they do that? Why do they say those things?” Crenshaw asked. “Because fundamentally they want to dismantle our country and its institutions. That’s not my words, that’s their words.”

Democrats want to take away economic freedom, border security and cripple the energy sector, he added. “I don’t think most Americans want that,” he said.
“I think we want a renewed sense of faith in the country, I think we want to have our kids love our country again,” said Crenshaw. “I think we want to restore a faith in our police force and restore safety in our communities and we want to rebuild our economy.”
“This is not President Obama’s Democrat Party,” said the congressman.
