(CNSNews.com) – Seventy-four percent of kindergarten-through-12th-grade teachers would prefer to work remotely as much as possible—if their employer were to leave it up to them—once schools reopen, according to a Gallup poll.
Between June 29 and July 19, Gallup surveyed 495 K-12 teachers. The survey sought to discover the percentage of teachers who, “if their employer left it up to them, would prefer to work remotely as much as possible once restrictions on businesses and school closures are lifted.”
It turned out that 74 percent of teachers said they would prefer to work remotely.
This was just one point more than the 73 percent of all other U.S. worker who, Gallup reports, say they would prefer to work remotely.
But a teachers, are significantly more likely to be very concerned about being exposed to COVID-19 on the job than are other workers.
Gallup asked: “How concerned are you about being exposed to coronavirus at your place of work?”
Among K-12 teachers, 57 percent said they were “very concerned;” 18 percent said they were “moderately concerned;” 11 percent said they were “not too concerned;” and 14 percent said they were “not concerned at all.”
Among all other U.S. workers, 21 percent said they were “very concerned;” 29 percent said they were “moderately concerned;” 25 percent said they were “not too concerned;” and 25 percent said they were “not concerned at all.”
