Just because he got his scrawny derrière handed to him at Wednesday’s Democrat group grope doesn’t mean Michael Bloomberg’s ideas don’t have traction throughout the rest of his adoptive party. Like Bloomberg, the Democrat party is all about control of others because fundamentally, they don’t respect anyone who isn’t an “elite” like them.
Comments like “flyover country” and “basket of deplorables” referring to the people who support Trump, helped cost the criminal crone from Chappaqua the Presidency in 2016. Former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg is headed right down that road himself with comments he made that same year about farming and farmers. Here are his words, emphasis mine
Bloomberg, Nov. 17, 2016: If you think about it, the agrarian society lasted 3,000 years, and we can teach processes. I can teach anybody – even people in this room, so no offense intended – to be a farmer. It’s a process. You dig a hole, you put a seed in, you put dirt on top, you add water, up comes corn. You can learn that. Then you had 300 years of the industrial society. You put the piece of metal on the lathe, you turn the crank in direction of arrow and you can have a job.
Such arrogance. Such fundamental disrespect—and such ignorance, especially from someone who is a self made billionaire. One would think he knew better than to spout such drivel. Basically, Bloomberg totally diminished the effort, knowledge and guts it takes to wring a living from the soil—to such an extent that we not only feed ourselves, but a good portion of the World. Amazingly enough, we do that with only 1.3 percent of our labor force. That’s right Mr Bloomberg, less than two percent of our population helps feed the World. How is that for technical know how?! One other little minor point. You mentioned machinists in your little diatribe. Well guess what Pal…we are short machinists. If it was as easy as you say and given the starting wages now being offered, wouldn’t there be a line for such jobs? Asking for a friend.
President Trump, understanding people much better than the midget mayor from Manhattan, shot right back at Bloomberg at an event in Bakersfield California, where he signed orders to let California Farmers have access to much needed water. This was water they had already paid for but had been denied to them by the leftists in Sacramento, who had more concern for a 2 inch fish than for their citizens. Instead of keeping the podium, The President ceded it to several farmers, enabling them to make their feelings known, letting them tell their stories and making them the center of attention…as they should have been all along.
But as I said at the very beginning, this is all about control. Bloomberg and his fellow travelers don’t like people who actually do things. They don’t like people in flyover country who wrest food and energy from the ground. They don’t like people who design and then craft mighty ships that carry people between continents through the air. They look down on the 60 year old man who comes in the wintertime to repair your broken water line, sticking his hands in cold water until they are numb, so you can have running water again.**
They want to control these people because these are the people who vote conservative. These are people who know that there are only two sexes and that letting boys into girls bathrooms is a recipe for disaster. These are the people who turned out for Donald J. Trump in 2016 and will do so again this coming November, likely bringing a few friends along for the fun.
These leftists have a time tested methodology to achieve control. The general formula goes like this: 1) Identify (or more likely, invent) a “problem,” that only a government program(s) can solve. 2) Institute some program or another to solve the problem. 3) Identify some other problem resulting from the government program previously instituted and design yet another government intervention to fix the new problem…that they created.
Let’s look MediCare, MedicAid and ObamaCare and the ultimate leftist goal, Single Payer. All of these were instituted or wanting to be instituted allegedly to solve the problem of health care for Americans. What would be the likely result of this? First of all, shoddy medicine and long waiting lines, as in Great Britain or the VA & MedicAid in these United States. Some other likely results? How about the government forbidding you to take extraordinary measures to save the life of your child, because they MUST be in control, just like Great Britain’s National Health Service. Pearl clutching? Read on.
Here is the insidious part. Once the taxpayers are responsible for paying your medical bills, then quite rightly they could make the case that they should get a vote as to your lifestyle. Of course they would appoint some “apolitical” commission or board (death panel) to determine how much of this or that a person would be allowed to eat; How many minutes a day he would be required to exercise. How much health care service he would be allowed To have based on his age, lifestyle and ultimately, value to society. Think that cannot happen? Remember Mayor Mike’s soda ban in New York? It starts with that type of thing. Do you really believe that there is this vast heretofore untapped demand for meatless hamburgers?
Political elites like Bloomberg and all the other leftists on the Democrat Debate stage well and truly despise us. They truly believe we are too stupid to know what is good for us. They truly want to control every piece of our lives they can can possibly get away with. It’s not only us they despise. They even despise their own voters. Just look at all the shenanigans going on in their Presidential Primary. They know best. You are it sit down, shut up and do what you are told.
It’s not just about which health care solution is best. It’s certainly not about the size of the cup you slurp your soda from. It’s about control.
**Hat tip to my plumber “Raymond,” who did just that, repaired our water line in the middle of February.
