Sen. Elizabeth Warren: accidental comedian?

While Warren’s hopes of winning the Democratic nomination for president are fading fast thanks in part to Berniementum, that hasn’t stopped her from unexpectedly opening other doors of opportunity while on the campaign trail.

During a speech Warren gave to the Culinary Workers Union in Las Vegas on Tuesday, she introduced herself as the woman who “was gonna beat Donald Trump.” She followed up by telling the small crowd that the White House “is a mess.” It’s what she said next that will become the subject of countless hilarious memes in the weeks and months to come:

“And when you’ve got a mess, and you REALLY need it cleaned up, call a woman to get the job done.”

Here’s a shorter version from a different angle, which was tweeted out by CBS News political reporter Caitlin Huey-Burns:

While it’s clear she wasn’t talking about literally “cleaning up” after a man, the remarks came across as a bit off key considering they were coming from a self-styled “war on women” feminist. It didn’t take long for the jokes and observations to start rolling in:

Ouch! That last one’s gonna leave a mark.

Speaking of Las Vegas, the Democratic presidential debate is tonight at 9pm Eastern time. Here’s how to watch. Also, make sure to check in here at the site for live commentary from me, my RedState colleagues, and your fellow RS commenters starting at 8:45. Should be fun. ????
