When rumors popped up hinting that failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton would be teaming up with current soon-to-be failed 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, there was much rejoicing…by conservatives.
The rumor, which started after the Drudge Report reported that a source close to Bloomberg’s team said that his campaign was considering making an offer to Clinton to take on the role of VP. The intent, I suppose, is to sweeten the pot for Democrats who were on the fence about supporting the billionaire.
However, according to the Washington Examiner, Clinton isn’t planning on joining up with Bloomberg for anything:
“Oh, no. I’m just waiting and watching as this plays out. I will support whoever the nominee is because I think, for all the reasons you can imagine, and here in Puerto Rico there are many, we need to have a new president for our country,” the former secretary of state and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee said at a Clinton Global Initiative event in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Tuesday.
Clinton’s remarks came in response to a moderator’s question about a report by Matt Drudge claiming Bloomberg, 78, was considering asking Clinton, 72, to join his presidential ticket.
This isn’t necessarily a solid “no,” but more of a “no for right now” kind of response. As the Examiner pointed out, Clinton told Ellen DeGeneres that she’ll “never say never” when it came to stepping back onto the political stage.
When the rumor originally came up, many conservatives and Republicans reacted as if Christmas had come early.

Hilariously, people also began to joke about Bloomberg’s dark future where he would constantly be having to look over his shoulder to make sure the woman behind him wasn’t getting too close.

It’s unlikely that having Clinton in your corner would help you in 2020. It certainly didn’t help Clinton in 2016.
It certainly didn’t help Epstein in 2019.
