The local Phoenix journalist who broke the story about the infamous Bill Clinton-Loretta Lynch tarmac meeting back in 2016 has a new book out about the subject which he spoke about on Fox. He said there’s a lot that people still don’t know about the meeting.
The meeting at the Phoenix airport happened on June 27, 2016, while both the Clinton Foundation was being looked into and the FBI was investigating Hillary Clinton over her private email server. It created a firestorm of suspicion, particularly then when Hillary was interviewed on July 2 and former FBI Director James Comey then said they would not be pursuing charges against her despite finding that she had sent and received classified information on the private server.
That action by Comey was completely improper as he had no right to act as the prosecutor in the matter. But he said later he assumed that role because of classified evidence he felt required him to make the decision. But it wasn’t his decision to make. Even if Lynch were compromised it would fall to her deputy to make the decision. But Lynch never actually recused herself.
Both Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch claim that they never discussed the Clinton email case but that they just talked about golf and grandchildren.
But Christopher Sign, who was the guy who caught them at the airport and a morning anchor at the Phoenix-area ABC15 when he first reported their encounter, said there’s more to the story.
From Washington Examiner:
The book “details everything that they don’t want you to know and everything they think you forgot. But Bill Clinton was on that plane for 20 minutes, and it wasn’t just about golf, grandkids, and Brexit,” Sign said on Fox & Friends. “There’s so much that doesn’t add up.”
Sign said he spoke with an eye-witness to the meeting when Clinton “waited” on the tarmac of the airport for Lynch’s plane to land and taxi to a stop. Sign described confusion among the FBI and Secret Service officers about what Clinton and Lynch were doing.
“Most of her [Lynch’s] staff gets off [the airplane], he [Clinton] then gets on as the Secret Service and FBI are figuring out, ‘How in the world are we supposed to handle this? What are we supposed to do?’” Sign said.
Lynch and Bill Clinton claim his wife’s emails were never discussed. Both say Clinton brought up golf, while Lynch said Clinton told her he had played golf during that particular trip to Arizona. In May 2019, Sign told RealClearInvestigations he was unable to find “a single person who claims or corroborates any story that Bill Clinton played golf on this particular trip,” and said, “I feel strongly the former president did not play golf on this visit.”
While IG Horowitz criticized Lynch and concluded that Comey had acted improperly, he didn’t hold anyone to account for their actions and could not conclude that Lynch spoke about the Clinton matters in the meeting with Clinton.
Sign said that after he revealed the meeting in 2016, he got a lot of death threats.
“My family received significant death threats shortly after breaking this story,” Sign said on Monday. “Credit cards hacked. You know, my children, we have code words. We have secret code words that they know what to do.”
He needs to have something signed or videoed saying he doesn’t intend to kill himself.
What is really needed is someone beyond Horowitz to look at the circumstances surrounding the meeting because Horowitz is just looking to see if their are any violations of FBI rules, not if there’s any criminal action and he can only go so far in terms of investigation, they’re not going to be looking at any detail into the facts of the meeting, such as the detail about the golfing.
