House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was busy doing more spinning on CNN with Christiane Amanpour on Saturday.

Amanpour inquired more about Pelosi ripping the State of the Union speech of President Donald Trump after he finished giving his address.

Pelosi basically admitted that she did it for attention because she felt that the Democrats weren’t getting enough attention from the media.

From Townhall:

“Are you giving a signal that the Democrats will fight back hard, that you will not be constrained by what you believe to be insurgent behavior on the other side, and that this is, you know, a time to go mano a mano?” CNN’s Christiane Amanpour asked.

“Let me say this: I had no intention of doing that when we went to the State of the Union. In fact, I was well into past the first third of it. I’m a speed reader so I was reading ahead so I knew what was there. I got past about a third of it and I thought, ‘This is terrible,’” Pelosi explained.

She tried to explain that she putting little tears in pages she wanted to remember.

“I made a niche on a couple of pages thinking, ‘You ought to remember what was on this page, this page,’ then I realized most every page had something in it that was objectionable. So it wasn’t a planned thing, but it was —” she rolled her tongue in her mouth, clearly looking for words, before she changed the subject.

Of course, that contradicts the video which showed her preparing the ripping of the speech during the speech.

People wanting to remember something mark it with pen or with turning down a corner, they don’t practice ripping it.

Then she basically switches gears and suggests she did plan it, to get attention because media wasn’t paying enough attention to the Democratic agenda or what they were doing.

“One of my disappointments is the fact that all we have done legislatively, whether it’s equal pay for equal work, raising the minimum wage, gun violence protection, issues that relate to our children, the list goes on, climate action now, we have very little press on it,” Pelosi stated. “And it seems if you want to get press you have to get attention. So I thought, ‘Well, let’s get attention on the fact that what he said here today was not true.’”

Translation: Trump is getting attention for this great speech, look at all the marvelous stories and wonderful Americans he’s talked about. What can I do to grab back media attention to me?

She’s basically admitting that, that they are so deficient in what they have to offer, she made a scene for attention from the media.

Even with media constantly siding with the Democrats, she realized that in that moment with that speech, she was losing. And it didn’t matter how she might disturb or offend the Americans who were being honored or the Americans who were watching at home.

One of the State of the Union guests being honored by Trump, Jody Jones, noted how the guests were offended and heartbroken by what Pelosi did. People even called into C-Span and said they were never voting Democrat again after seeing that.
